Gila Bend. A small town, 1700 people, a Burger King, a McDonalds, a Texaco that accepts Chevron credit. I meet two cyclists riding 35,500 miles + 10 miles every time a solider dies in Afghanistan. They started with $30,000 and now live on scrap metal. They smoke, we look at maps and talk about elevation gain, alternative routes and they ask for change for coffee. I give them what I have including a fair amount of respect. They have been riding in circles across the US for 5 years. In mileage, they have circumnavigated the globe x2.5. They have no website, no blog, no foundation, no 501c3. They have two bicycles, each weighing in at 140 lbs, and a promise they made 5 years ago that fuels today.
